Surroundings

Our apartment is located in a semi-circular apartment-building, situated not far from the centre (300m) in a quiet part of Harrachov known as Klondajk.
In winter, thanks to its location and altitude, Harrachov becomes fairy tale like in its beauty as the region is covered by a thick white coat of snow. Ski enthusiasts have the opportunity to try the many kilometres of cross-country ski trails and the many down hill ski runs of varying difficulty. There are several ski rentals and ski schools. Harrachov is one of the few winter resorts in the world where you can admire ski jumping as it has a ski jumping area with a giant ski jump. You can visit four museums in the town (The mining museum, the skiing museum, the Giant mountains museum and the Glasswork museum). You can as well visit glasssworks and see how the glass is produced.
In summer, Harrachov and its surroundings provide a wide range of opportunities for hiking, mountain biking, and other sports. You can hire a bike and enjoy well-marked hiking paths and cycling routes in deep forests and mountains. Sports facilities in Harrachov include tennis courts, mini-golf, the highest golf court in Czech R., volley ball courts, squash courts, bob-sleigh (The Summer Bobsleigh Track), swimming pools and fitness centres.
